To celebrate the opening of Bertie’s Whisky Bar, we are delighted to announce the launch of our own blended malt Scotch whisky, in partnership with whisky writer, Dave Broom and Alex Bruce, Managing Director of Scotland’s most acclaimed independent bottler and distiller, Adelphi.
Inspired by the signature styles enjoyed in the late Victorian and Edwardian era, the flavour of our Scotch whisky is fuller in style and with a little smoke coming through. The rich fruitiness comes from sherry casks, the cask type most identifiably and widely used during these era’s.
This is then tempered by subtle layers of smoke from Ardnamurchan, Adelphi’s distillery found on the secluded West Coast of Scotland. A distillery powered entirely by renewable energy; the whiskies made here are from Alex’s family barley farms in Fife. The West Coast style of smokiness found in this fine dram is then balanced by a sweet, gentle, light fruit top note.
Like Bertie’s Whisky Bar itself, the blended malt Scotch whisky is to be enjoyed by all – whether an experienced whisky drinker or those new to whisky. Guests of the Fife Arms can savour a dram or two at Bertie’s, as well as throughout the other bars and restaurants in the hotel. The whisky will also be available to purchase from our online shop HERE, at £95 a bottle.
Meet the team at Bertie’s in our new whisky videos. They will take you through the flavour profiles, historical context of the blend, and where the whisky sits in our library of 365 bottles.
Slàinte Mhath – Cheers!
