About the Hotel
Federica first came to Aberdeenshire with her husband in 1997, looking for an adventure after graduating from university in Northern Italy. She started her hospitality career at the famous Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street in Edinburgh. After gaining further experience in renowned five-star hotels in both Scotland and Italy, Federica moved to Cornwall to manage Hotel Tresanton, one of the first hotels in the UK where the design moved away from the classic hotel look. Federica has been a resident of Braemar since 2015.
Deputy General Manager
Originally from Denmark, Kirsten moved to Scotland in 2016, where she worked as Regional Operations Manager at The Spires Serviced Apartments in Aberdeen. Kirsten began her hospitality career with Radisson SAS Hotels where she rose to become General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson in Sandton in South Africa. She also worked as Club General Manager of Virgin Active Health Club in Johannesburg.
Originally from Glasgow, Robert has returned to Scotland after working in Dubai for the past 12 years. Robert began his career at Nairn’s Restaurant and Hotel before working as Sous Chef on M/V Hebridean Princess cruise ship. Following this, he moved to Dubai and worked as a head chef for two private yachts and as Head Executive Chef at Fortnum and Mason, before joining The Fife Arms. Robert is passionate about Scottish produce which he sources from the many local suppliers.
From stalking to skiing meet our hotel Ghillie, Ros Evans, who will be in charge of our guests experiences and concierge department. Born in Aberdeen and growing up on a farm 10 miles south of Aberdeen, Ros spent much of her childhood exploring Deeside’s walking and skiing. After studying hospitality management in Dundee and spending six years in the Swiss Alps, Ros and her husband decided to return to Scotland, falling for the hills and beauty of Braemar. They have now been in Braemar for over 15 years where they set up a coffee shop/restaurant.
Food and Beverage Operations Manager
David started his career at Cameron House hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond. While there, he was the recipient of the Excellence in Food and Beverage award by Q Hotels, an award measured on guest satisfaction and feedback. He went on to work as General Manager at The Clachan Inn and Food and Beverage Operations Manager at Gleddoch House. Prior to joining The Fife Arms, David worked in the same role at The Shore on Loch Lomond and also for 200 SVS, an events company based in Glasgow.
