This Summer, we are offering guests of all ages a fun variety of free art resources to explore and express their own creativity, whether you are lured by the local landscape or find your inspiration within the hotel’s stunning interiors and art collection, we have everything you need to hand.

Youth Art Reviewers

Our Youth Art Reviewers Project encourages young adults aged 14+ to share their voice and views on the Fife Arms Art Collection and interiors, using a series of guided worksheets to explore their personal selections using critical skills and imaginative responses.

A selection of the best Youth Art Reviews will be shared on the Fife Arms social media pages – just like a professional art critic!

Poetry Path

Channel your inner poet whilst enjoying a walk around the beautiful village of Braemar. Keep your mind in the moment and your eyes peeled for our ‘poetry path’ words that have been installed in shop windows, hung around local woodlands and placed at local attractions.

Create your own unique poem featuring the words that you found on your walk and write it down in our ‘Fife Arms Summer Poetry Book’ which will be on display at the Ghillie desk for all to enjoy!

Family Treasure Hunt

If Summer showers stop outdoor adventures then why not give our hotel Treasure Hunt a try?  Put your best detective skills to the test and follow the clues to find amazing items all around the hotel.

A fun and simple Quiz for all the family to enjoy together.

Junior Ghillies

Launching in August, our Junior Ghillie programme gives younger guests a glimpse into the life of a Scottish Ghillie – what does that word mean? How long have Ghillies been around in Scotland and what do our hotel Ghillie team do?

Junior Ghillies will be issued with practical tasks, walking, maps, wildlife safari trails and learn about the history of Queen Victoria’s Ghillie John Brown and local landmarks associated with him that can be visited by the family during your stay. Report for duty at the Ghillie Desk to get started!

Private Family Film Screenings

Daily 4pm-6pm

Family Room

Grab a carton of popcorn and ‘coorie’ in (the Scots word for snuggle!) on our giant Family Room sofa to enjoy a selection of fun family DVDs, including titles from Studio Ghibli, Disney, Pixar, and Aardman Animations.

Screenings are designed for family groups of up to 8 people and should be booked 24hrs in advance with the Reception Team.
