at The Fife Arms

Welcome to The Fife Arms Easter celebrations. We have created a programme of events combining creative and outdoor activities, from hands-on workshops in the hotel to walks around the beautiful village of Braemar. All materials are provided, so all you need to do is book your space and come along and create.

Sunday 5th April, 1 – 2pm, Dried Flower Crowns

Join florist Chloe MacIntyre to make flower crowns using birch, ivy and dried flowers – perfect for woodland elves and fairies! The crowns can be worn or hung on a wall.
This is a free event.

Sunday 5th April, 3 – 4pm, Spring Bulb Baskets

Florist Chloe MacIntyre will show us how to create magical miniature landscapes. Using spring bulbs, like blue mascari and little daffodils, in rustic containers with birch twig handles and dried flower embellishments, these enchanting spring arrangements are yours to take home and enjoy.

Tuesday 7th April, 2 – 4pm, Easter Tote Bag Printing

Artist Laura Bremner of Juniper Press will show us how to make a bespoke tote bag, using spring motifs and graphic shapes. You will learn how to print your bag by hand, inspired by the surroundings of the Fife Arms.
This is a free event.

Thursday 9th April, 11am – 1pm, Family Ramble and Forage

Explore the wild spaces around the Fife Arms, learning about the plants that grow there, play ‘pooh sticks’ on the river and nibble on some wild sorrel in the company of professional forager Natasha Lloyd. Meet in the Fife Arms Lobby at 11am.
This is a free event.

Friday 10th April, 2 – 4pm, Wooden Egg Decorating

Join artist Tracey Johnston of Claremont Studio and learn how to draw your own beautiful folk art patterns on wooden eggs. Be inspired by the art and design of the Fife Arms and create a lovely memento of your visit.

Easter Weekend

Easter Craft Station

Throughout the Easter weekend, we will be hosting a craft club in the Fog House. We will be welcoming guests and visitors to drop in and create something inspired by our beautiful location.

Fife Arms Treasure Hunt

Over the Easter weekend, we have arranged a special Garden Treasure Hunt. Follow the clues to find the eggs. Claim a reward at the Ghillie’s Desk if you find all the eggs!

Thursday 16th April, 11am – 1pm, Medal Making Workshop

Artist Gabi Reith is well known for her illustrative and wearable designs that feature her love of animals and nature in her signature style. In this workshop Gabi will be showing us how to make a hand painted ‘medal‘ that reflects what is special to you.
This is a free event.

Sunday 19th May, 2 – 3.30pm, Music Inspiring Landscapes

A talk and musical performance on the people of the Cairngorm Mountains and the nature that inhabits this wild landscape.

Local father and daughter duo, Katy Fennema and Graeme MacKintosh host a talk on the people of the Cairngorms and the nature that inhabits this wild landscape.

The talk will include a 20 minute performance of the composition ‘Music Inspiring Landscapes’ (2019) which depicts the people who have travelled the mountain tracks through history, the running water, the birds calling across the moorland and the destructive violence of the storm.
This is a free event.
