Welcome to the Fife Arms’ February Half-Term Art Room programme, which offers a wide range of creative activities for children and their adults to enjoy, spending quiet, creative time together as a family.
This winter, our inspiration comes from local Deeside Folklore and the tale of the Thieving Kelpie of Braemar. Passed through generations, this story speaks of imagination and the deep relationship between people and place.
Throughout February, families are invited to explore this legend through hands on making and storytelling. There will be a drop-in kelpie origami session, where children can fold and shape their own river creatures, alongside a specially created Fife Arms colouring- in storybook that retells the Braemar kelpie tale in a playful way.
The Brae Room will be stocked with creative resources for all ages, encouraging drawing, writing, crafting, and quiet moments. Books, games, and films will also be available, offering a cosy space to rest and reflect.
Whatever you sketch, paint, write or make at the Fife Arms this February, remember to share images with us online using #FifeArmsfamily.
