Jessie Burton, the multimillion best-selling author of The Miniaturist, The Muse, The Confession, and The House of Fortune, all of which were instant Sunday Times best sellers, reflected on her extraordinary literary career. The Miniaturist, the fastest-selling debut of the 2010s, was adapted into a BBC mini-series starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
Jessie’s books for children included Medusa, which was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal for writing, and her novels had been published in 40 languages.
Jessie joined Vicki Perrin of The Queen’s Reading Room in conversation to explore her remarkable career and the central female characters that inhabited the highly detailed worlds of her novels.
