Federica Bertolini

General Manager

Federica first came to Aberdeenshire with her husband in 1997, looking for an adventure after graduating from university in Northern Italy. She started her hospitality career at the famous Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street in Edinburgh. After gaining further experience in renowned five-star hotels in both Scotland and Italy, Federica moved to Cornwall to manage Hotel Tresanton, one of the first hotels in the UK where the design moved away from the classic hotel look. Federica has been a resident of Braemar since 2015.

Kirsten Jensen

Deputy General Manager

Originally from Denmark, Kirsten moved to Scotland in 2016, where she worked as Regional Operations Manager at The Spires Serviced Apartments in Aberdeen. Kirsten began her hospitality career with Radisson SAS Hotels where she rose to become General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson in Sandton in South Africa. She also worked as Club General Manager of Virgin Active Health Club in Johannesburg.

Timothy Kensett

Executive Chef

Timothy has a wealth of international experience having worked at a number of high-profile hotels and restaurants around the world. Most recently, he was Executive Head Chef at the renowned Goldeneye Villa & Spa in Jamaica. Prior to that he was Executive Chef at Storico - a much-loved Italian restaurant on New York’s Upper West Side. Born and raised in the UK, Timothy worked at several of London’s leading restaurants including The River Café, Roast and The Square under the tutelage of Philip Howard. “I have made it a point of my career to travel and experience different cultures, as a view to it making me a more appreciative and rounded chef.”

Ros Evans


From stalking to skiing meet our hotel Ghillie, Ros Evans, who will be in charge of our guests experiences and concierge department. Born in Aberdeen and growing up on a farm 10 miles south of Aberdeen, Ros spent much of her childhood exploring Deeside’s walking and skiing. After studying hospitality management in Dundee and spending six years in the Swiss Alps, Ros and her husband decided to return to Scotland, falling for the hills and beauty of Braemar. They have now been in Braemar for over 15 years where they set up a coffee shop/restaurant.
