Map Embroidery Workshop

Join artist Carrie Fertig, maker of many items in the Fife Arms shop, in this drop-in, family-friendly map embellishment workshop. Taking place in the Activity Room in the Brae Wing from 10am – 3:30pm on Saturday 30th May, participants can embroider directly onto a ten-metre map of the Sublime, or make a separate piece in an embroidery hoop to add at a later time or take home. All supplies will be provided and the workshop is suitable for ages 6 and up, in the company of a parent or guardian. All are welcome and no experience is required.

Once completed, this textile map will be exhibited at The Barn in Banchory from 26th September – 24th October, 2026 for Health of the Sublime, a project mapping the experience of wellbeing in the natural world through the lens of climate change and inspired by immersive experiences in nature.

This workshop is part of our May Art Room programme of creative and outdoor activities for families.
