Muir & Hound Dog Experiences

Head out into the Cairngorms with experienced dog trainer and local expert Matthew Muir for an unforgettable taste of traditional Highland working dog culture. Meet at the hotel before setting off along the River Dee with five dogs at your side. On arrival, Matthew will demonstrate the fast-paced sport of dog scurry and guide you through having a go yourself.

For something a little more leisurely, join Matthew and hotel Labrador Io for a guided walk through the hills and countryside surrounding Braemar. Taking in the breathtaking scenery of Upper Deeside, it’s the perfect way to explore the landscape at a gentle pace with a four-legged companion by your side. Up to 4 additional dogs are available on request.
