Summer Art Room
During the summer, the Fife Arms offers guests of all ages a fun variety of free art resources to explore and express their creativity, whether by heading out into the local landscape or finding inspiration in the hotel’s stunning interiors and art collection.
This summer, the programme explores the theme of zoology, inspired by Scottish naturalists who studied the animals, birds and wild landscapes of Deeside. In 1850, ornithologist William MacGillivray spent time in Braemar exploring its geology, vegetation, and wildlife. His careful approach to studying birds, and the habitats that sustain them, encourages us to slow down, observe closely, and find beauty in detail.
Alongside self-led activities, guests can join an illustrated Birds of Deeside workshop and a tactile leaf printing session, using natural inks and gathered botanicals to create richly layered textile prints.
