The Courtyard Bar

This summer, our courtyard and Fog House have been transformed into The Courtyard Bar, including a beautiful outdoor dining space and a hut serving champagne and freshly shucked oysters. Welcoming walk-ins only, it’s the perfect place to enjoy fine food and refreshing drinks on sunny days, while the fire pit, sheepskins, and tartan throws will keep you warm well into the evening. Pub dishes and drinks may also be ordered from The Flying Stag menu, alongside excellent drams from Bertie’s Whisky Bar.

There is no need to book. The Courtyard Bar is walk-in only, and families are more than welcome to join us. Simply arrive and find a seat in the courtyard or the covered Fog House. Please find our opening hours below.

Champagne & Oysters

Enjoy freshly shucked oysters and champagne by the glass from the hut at The Courtyard Bar. Champagnes include Louis Roederer Collection 246 and Jean-Marc Charpentier Terre d’Emotion, alongside Louis Roederer Rosé Brut and the English sparkling wines Gusborne Brut and Maid of Bruton, from the Fife Arms’ sister vineyard of Durslade in Somerset.

The champagne and oyster hut welcomes walk-ins only, with seating in the paved courtyard or inside in the neighbouring Fog House. Open to the air on warm afternoons, sheltered when the Highland weather turns.

Outdoor Dining

The Flying Stag pub’s food and drink menus are also available in The Courtyard Bar, so delicious spring dishes and Sunday roasts can be enjoyed either al fresco in the courtyard, or under the cover of the Fog House.

Celebrating seasonal ingredients and local producers, with dishes including spring pea and wild garlic soup, pork schnitzel holstein, and Shetland mussels. A meal here is the perfect way to round off a Royal Deeside staycation, enjoy a relaxed evening gathering, or treat the family to a leisurely lunch after a Cairngorms hike.
