Award-winning writer and song lyricist Simon Armitage, who was marking the mid-point of his Poet Laureateship, joined in conversation with Nick Barley, Director of the emerging National Poetry Centre in Leeds.

Also known for his BBC Radio 4 series, The Poet Laureate has Gone to his Shed, and his best-selling non-fiction, Simon discussed his wide-ranging literary career and some key projects as Laureate. This unique occasion included the opportunity for the audience to ask questions and hear Simon read from his latest poetry collection Blossomise, a collaboration with the National Trust, and Never Good With Horses, his recent publication of lyrics.
